DX Physio Balgowlah & Cremorne Sydney
Because every woman deserves to feel confident in her body.
Are you struggling with back pain, bladder leaks, or core weakness after birth? Is pelvic pain or painful intercourse affecting your daily life or intimacy?
Women’s health is complex and deeply personal. At DX Physio, our experienced female physiotherapists offer tailored women’s health physio care to help you move with confidence, strength and comfort.
Our women’s health physiotherapy services are designed to support a wide variety of conditions, from pelvic floor issues to postnatal care and more.
Many women come to us with ongoing back or hip pain that just never seems to go away. They may have tried stretches, massage, or general physio, but the pain keeps coming back.
What’s often missed is the pelvic region. When the pelvic muscles are weak, tight, or out of balance, especially after pregnancy, menopause, or surgery, they can affect your posture, stability, and even your breathing.
This is where women’s health physio may make a difference:
Our holistic approach helps you understand your body better, build strength, recover faster and feel truly at home in your body.
A woman's body changes significantly over a lifetime. Women's health physio may help you navigate each stage with greater ease.
Our women's health physios offer a judgment-free space to talk openly and receive compassionate, targeted care.
Struggling after birth, surgery or menopause?
Our women’s health physios are here to help you feel like yourself again.
We look for the root cause of your concerns to better understand your needs and tailor care using a variety of different treatment options.
If you have been living with chronic pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, painful intercourse, difficulty controlling your bladder and bowel function, pelvic physiotherapy may be helpful.
Many women also see us during pregnancy or postpartum for guidance on exercise, core recovery, and pelvic floor health.
Common prolapse symptoms may include a feeling of heaviness or pressure in the pelvic region, a bulging or dragging sensation, difficulty with bowel movements or bowel control, and discomfort during intimacy.
Alongside pelvic health conditions, our team also has experience supporting musculoskeletal injuries such as back pain, hip pain, and pregnancy-related concerns. We take a holistic approach to health care and focus on improving quality of life.
Your first appointment includes a detailed discussion about your symptoms, medical history, and goals. Your physiotherapist will then perform a thorough assessment, which may include:
Together, we’ll create a personalised treatment plan that suits your needs and comfort level.
Manual therapy may be used as part of your treatment plan to help address tension or restriction in the pelvic area and surrounding musculoskeletal structures.
Initial assessments usually take 60 minutes, as they include a detailed consultation and physical assessment. Follow-up sessions take around 45 minutes, depending on your treatment plan.
No referral is required. You can book directly with us. However, if you have a referral from your GP or obstetrician, please bring it along so we may coordinate care as needed.
You don’t need to do anything special beforehand. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. If an internal examination is appropriate, your physio will discuss this with you in detail; it’s always optional and consent-based.
This varies depending on your condition and goals. Most women may notice improvement within three to six sessions when following their home exercise program consistently.
We focus on long-term recovery and function, not just short-term symptom relief.
During pregnancy, physiotherapy may help manage back or pelvic girdle pain, improve posture, and prepare your body for birth.
After childbirth, we assist with abdominal separation recovery, pelvic floor strengthening, pain management, and return to exercise.
Recovering from pelvic surgery can affect pelvic floor function, movement and comfort in ways that aren’t always addressed in standard post-operative care. Our experienced team offers pelvic floor rehab to support your recovery at a pace that suits your body.
Sexual health is an important but often overlooked aspect of women’s wellbeing. Painful intercourse or pelvic floor muscle tension can affect intimacy and quality of life.
Our physiotherapists offer compassionate, evidence-based care in a judgment-free environment to help you address these health concerns.
Where appropriate, our experienced team works collaboratively with other health professionals, including GPs and obstetricians, to help your care stay coordinated and comprehensive. We believe that holistic care means looking at the whole picture, not just one piece of it.
Most private health funds cover pelvic floor physiotherapy under Physiotherapy – Extras. If you are referred under an Enhanced Primary Care plan from your general practitioner, you may also be eligible for a Medicare rebate for up to five sessions per year. We can help you check your eligibility during booking.
We understand that life can be busy. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
Cancellations within 24 hours or missed appointments may incur a cancellation fee, as this time is reserved especially for you.
No woman should be left feeling lost and without support. At DX Physio, we offer tailored women’s and pelvic health physiotherapy to help treat your concerns and reach your health goals.
With qualified physiotherapists and a supportive environment, you’ll always feel heard and respected.
