Personalised, evidence-based care to support your health journey.

At DX Physio, we believe that with the right support, you may work toward moving with greater confidence and managing pain more effectively. Physiotherapy focuses on how the body moves and functions, using evidence-based manual techniques to support your overall health.
From injury recovery and chronic pain management to support from a women’s health physio near Northern Beaches, our experienced physiotherapists are here to help guide you on your journey toward better health.
DX PHYSIO supports clients in Cremorne and Balgowlah through personalised physiotherapy care, with services spanning Women’s Health and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Our approach considers your individual presentation and goals to guide an appropriate treatment plan.
By assessing how your body moves, your physiotherapist may be able to identify the underlying cause of your concern and develop a treatment plan tailored to your goals and lifestyle.
Depending on your needs, treatments may include:
Gently manipulating your muscles may help relieve pain and improve mobility.
An individualised exercise programme may help support the development of strength and flexibility over time.
Shockwave therapy uses high-energy sound waves that may help stimulate tissue and support the recovery process.
Sound waves applied to the affected area may help support tissue recovery and assist in managing inflammation.
Dry needling uses fine needles applied to targeted muscle points in an effort to release tight muscles and reduce pain.
Clinical reformer pilates may help improve movement patterns and support long-term recovery.
Whether symptoms began after having a baby or have developed over time, concerns such as back pain, bladder leakage and core weakness deserve attention. Pelvic pain and pain during intercourse can be difficult to manage alone, particularly when they affect daily life and intimacy.
Every woman’s health experience is personal, and no two sets of symptoms are exactly alike. At DX Physio, our pelvic health physios shape women’s health physio care around your concerns, circumstances and goals, helping you work towards more comfortable, capable and confident movement.
A pelvic concern is not always what brings someone to our pelvic floor physiotherapists. Ongoing back or hip pain can lead women to seek another perspective, particularly when stretching, massage and general physio have not stopped the discomfort from recurring.
Pelvic floor function can affect more than bladder and bowel concerns. Following pregnancy, during menopause or after surgery, the pelvic muscles may become weaker, tighter or less coordinated, with possible effects on posture, balance and breathing. Assessing this area can give your physiotherapist useful information about your symptoms and help determine appropriate next steps.
Living with pain doesn’t have to be your only option.

Should shockwave therapy be incorporated into your treatment plan, please be aware that a $30 surcharge applies per session.
Both workers’ compensation and CTP claims are accepted at DX Physio. Please bring your claim number and relevant documentation to your first appointment.
It depends on your condition and goals. After your initial assessment, your physiotherapist will provide a tailored treatment plan and suggest a recommended visit frequency.
Yes. Hands-on (manual) therapy is included as part of your physiotherapy consultation if clinically required.
The dry needling process uses fine needles inserted into specific muscle points, and while some people may experience mild discomfort, your physiotherapist will check in with you throughout the session to help manage your comfort.
Our physiotherapists have experience in assessing and managing a broad range of sports and exercise-related injuries. Whether you are a competitive athlete or simply looking to stay active, we’ll collaborate with you to develop a personalised care plan to support your recovery.
Physiotherapy isn’t only for managing existing injuries; it may also play a role in helping you understand your body, improve your posture, and move more efficiently. This may help prevent future injuries.
The potential benefits of physiotherapy extend beyond injury management. Regular physiotherapy may assist you in moving more efficiently, managing muscle tightness, and working toward better posture, all of which may support a healthier, more active lifestyle over time.
Women’s health physio is a focused area of practice covering pelvic health, pregnancy and postnatal recovery, menopause, and the pain or continence concerns that come with them. Our pelvic health physios see women across Sydney at every stage of life, from first-time mums to women navigating menopause and beyond.
The main distinction is the scope of care. Women’s health physiotherapy can support women with concerns related to pregnancy, postnatal recovery, menopause, pelvic health, pain and continence, while pelvic floor physiotherapy concentrates on the muscles supporting the bladder, bowel and pelvic organs. Because these areas are connected, your women’s health appointment may include pelvic floor assessment if it suits your needs and you have given consent.
At your initial visit, we will discuss your current concerns, relevant birth or surgical history, changes you have noticed and your health goals. This is followed by an assessment of how your body moves and functions, which helps guide an individualised care plan. Treatment only proceeds with your consent, and you can ask questions at any stage.
We’ll take a detailed history including your symptoms, your birth or surgical history, what’s changed and when, and talk through your health goals. From there we’ll assess how your body is moving and functioning, and build a plan around your specific needs. Nothing happens without your consent, and you’re welcome to ask questions at any point.
If you have a chronic condition management plan from your GP, Medicare may cover up to five allied health sessions each calendar year when you are referred for physiotherapy. The five sessions are a combined allowance across the allied health services under that plan, and your GP will advise whether you meet the eligibility requirements. A private health fund may also contribute if physiotherapy is included in your extras cover. The contribution varies according to your cover and annual limits, so confirm the details with your fund before your appointment.
Some of the common conditions treated by our physiotherapists include back and neck pain, sports injuries, joint pain, muscle strains, headaches, pelvic pain, pregnancy-related discomfort, postnatal recovery, bladder concerns, changes in bowel movements, incontinence, prolapse and rehabilitation following surgery or injury. Treatment is tailored to your symptoms, needs and individual goals.
Physiotherapy may support people experiencing bladder leakage, urinary incontinence or pelvic pain through an assessment of pelvic floor control, muscle tension and movement patterns. Your plan may include training for the pelvic floor muscles, advice on bladder routines, breathing work and tailored exercises.
If it is clinically appropriate, your physiotherapist may recommend a physical examination. An internal assessment is only undertaken with your informed consent. Physiotherapy may also support bowel symptoms, pain during intercourse and pelvic organ prolapse, with the approach shaped around your symptoms, goals and comfort.
You can usually arrange to see a physiotherapist without a referral from another health professional. After discussing your needs, treatment might include education, individually selected exercises, movement strategies and manual therapy. Private health fund extras cover may contribute to the consultation if physiotherapy is included in your policy. Check the details with your fund before booking.
Physiotherapy is not just for when something goes wrong. Regular physiotherapy sessions may help you move more efficiently, manage muscle tightness, and support improved posture, contributing to a healthier and more active life over the long term. These structured, supervised classes are led by a physiotherapist and can support strength, mobility, balance and general movement. Activities are adjusted to your ability, health needs and goals, with guidance throughout to promote safe, confident participation.
