What is Involved in a Physiotherapy Session?

Your physiotherapist will assess how your body moves to help identify the underlying cause of your concern, and from there, develop a treatment plan tailored to your individual goals and lifestyle.

Treatments may include:

Manual Therapy

Gently manipulating your muscles may help relieve pain and improve mobility.

Exercise Programs

A tailored exercise programme may assist in building strength and improving flexibility.

Shockwave Therapy

Through the application of high-energy sound waves, shockwave therapy may help stimulate tissue repair and support recovery.

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Sound waves directed at the affected area may help support recovery and reduce inflammation.

Dry Needling

Using fine needles applied to targeted muscle points, dry needling may help address muscle tightness and assist in managing pain.

Clinical Reformer Pilates

Clinical reformer pilates may help you work toward better movement patterns while supporting your recovery over the long term.

Living with pain doesn’t have to be your only option.

Reach out to our physiotherapy team, and we’ll aim to help you find a way forward.

Visit frequency varies depending on your individual condition and goals. After your initial assessment, your physiotherapist will develop a personalised treatment plan and outline a suggested visit frequency to support your progress.

Where clinically appropriate, hands-on manual therapy is incorporated into your physiotherapy consultation at no additional cost.

Dry needling involves the insertion of fine needles into targeted muscle points, which some people may find mildly uncomfortable. Your physiotherapist will check in with you regularly throughout the session to help ensure you remain as comfortable as possible.

Our physiotherapists have experience in assessing and managing a broad range of sports and exercise-related injuries. Whether you are a competitive athlete or simply looking to stay active, we’ll collaborate with you to develop a personalised care plan to support your recovery.

Physiotherapy isn’t just about addressing current injuries. It may also help you gain a better understanding of your body, support improved posture, and encourage more efficient movement patterns, which may help in reducing the risk of future injuries.

The potential benefits of physiotherapy extend beyond injury management. Regular physiotherapy may assist you in moving more efficiently, managing muscle tightness, and working toward better posture, all of which may support a healthier, more active lifestyle over time.
