Address your movement and strength while supporting your well-being for the long term.
Clinical Reformer Pilates aims to support your strength, flexibility, and overall function, and may assist in managing your recovery. It may be used to help support:
If any of these concerns sound familiar, you don’t necessarily need ‘more exercise’: you need the most supportive exercise, guided by professional clinicians.
At DX Physio, clinical reformer Pilates is led by an experienced physiotherapist. Our programs are goal-driven and designed to support long-term change, not short-term fixes.
With clinical Pilates, we may help you work toward:
Ready to work towards greater strength and more confident movement?
Our small, physiotherapist-led Pilates classes may be just the right place to begin.
Give us a call and book a pre-class physiotherapy assessment. We will then guide you to the most suitable physio-led reformer Pilates program: Basic, Plus, or Premium.
Our 1V1 and 1V2 class formats are ideal for Pilates newcomers or those coming back after time away. Build your movement foundations in a caring, physio-led setting.
Every client is guided by a registered physiotherapist, with programs tailored to your body, history, and goals. We also use InBody body composition analysis to help track your progress along the way.
Eligible sessions may be claimed through private health insurance, depending on your cover. We'll provide a compliant invoice and guide you through the claims process if needed.
At DX Physio, we run Reformer Level 1 classes tailored specifically for those just starting out. Sessions are centred around foundational movement, core activation, breathing and building a greater sense of body awareness.
You’re welcome to progress at your own pace in a warm and supportive setting. Our team will be with you every step of the way, no prior experience necessary.
Opt for comfortable activewear that won’t restrict your movement, such as leggings, a fitted top and grip socks (grip socks are required for hygiene purposes on the reformer). Clothing with zippers or bulky seams is best avoided.
Booking is simple, head online to MindBody where you’ll find a range of options including 1-on-1 sessions, small group classes and our beginner-friendly Reformer Level 1.
Not sure what to expect with your first class? Book a FREE 10-minute consultation to chat with our physio team before joining.
We suggest all new clients start with a physiotherapy assessment, particularly if you are recovering from an injury, currently pregnant, postpartum, or managing an ongoing condition. This gives us the information we need to understand your history and goals and set up your program in the most appropriate way.
If you’re experienced with reformer Pilates and are not managing any current injuries, you’re welcome to book straight into a class. That said, we’d still welcome a brief chat to help point you in the right direction.
InBody is used at DX Physio as an objective outcome measure, providing data on:
This information helps us to track progress beyond the scale, set realistic, personalised goals, and adjust your program based on real data. Further, we measure weight or fat loss and check that it does not come at the cost of muscle loss.
Since all classes are physio-led, they are claimable under most private health funds as part of physiotherapy services. Check with your insurer for details.
Yes, reformer Pilates is designed to engage several muscle groups at the same time. At DX Physio, our physiotherapists harness the reformer’s spring resistance to target areas of focus while supporting your overall fitness, muscle tone, and postural control.
Clinical Pilates is delivered by qualified physiotherapists with a focus on rehabilitation, injury prevention, and postural correction; it’s about function, not just fitness. While regular mat Pilates may offer general fitness benefits, it is not tailored to your individual body, history or goals.
While both yoga and Pilates focus on mindful movement and breathing, clinical reformer Pilates uses dedicated equipment and is guided by physiotherapists with a focus on rehabilitation, core strength, and functional movement.
As a more structured and clinically informed practice, clinical reformer Pilates may be particularly well-suited to those managing specific health concerns or movement goals.
Clinical reformer Pilates differs from high-intensity gym training or HIIT Pilates in its emphasis on controlled, purposeful movement rather than pushing for high-intensity output.
Our Pre-Natal and Post-Natal Clinical Pilates classes are available for those who are pregnant or in the postpartum period. These sessions are carefully structured to support your core, pelvic floor, posture, and overall strength under the supervision of a registered physiotherapist.
At DX Physio, our clinical reformer Pilates classes are kept intentionally small and are guided by registered physiotherapists, rather than fitness instructors alone.
You can expect clear guidance, personalised programs and a level of individual attention that larger Pilates studios are unable to provide. With clinics in Cremorne and Balgowlah, both conveniently located near the Sydney CBD, we’re ready to welcome you.
Our New Client Intro Offer gives you 2 group classes for $80, to be used within 2 weeks. It’s a wonderful chance to explore our studio, meet the team and experience Clinical Reformer Pilates for yourself before deciding on a full program.
