Are Physical Limitations Affecting Your Daily Life?

Clinical Reformer Pilates is designed to help you build strength and flexibility, improve function, and speed up your recovery. It may be used to help support:

  • Chronic back or neck pain
  • Soft tissue and sports injuries
  • Injuries that keep coming back
  • Perimenopause or menopause body changes
  • Postpartum recovery needs, including abdominal separation and reduced core strength
  • Pelvic floor concerns, including leakage and prolapse
  • Decreased strength and mobility
  • Trouble gaining muscle or improving strength
  • Chronic medical conditions, managed in collaboration with GPs and dietitians
  • Visceral fat and metabolic risk concerns
  • Those who feel uncomfortable in large group fitness settings
  • Individuals looking for professional guidance using a reformer

If these concerns sound familiar, it may be time to consider a different approach. Rather than doing more, focus on doing the most supportive exercise, guided by professional clinicians who understand your needs.

How to Begin Your Reformer Pilates Journey Seaforth

1. Give us a Call to Begin

Start by giving us a call to arrange a pre-class physiotherapy assessment. Our team will then help you identify the most appropriate physio-led reformer Pilates program: Basic, Plus, or Premium.

2. Choose Your Reformer Pilates Classes

Select from our 1V1 or 1V2 class options, both well-suited for those new to Pilates or returning after a break. Develop your foundations in a supportive, physio-led environment.

3. Physiotherapist-Guided Exercise and Support

All programs at DX Physio are guided by a registered physiotherapist and tailored to your individual body, history and goals. InBody body composition analysis is also used to help track your progress over time.

4. Claim Back on Your Sessions Afterwards

Some sessions may be eligible for claiming through private health insurance, subject to your individual cover. We'll supply a compliant invoice and help guide you through the process if needed.

Your Questions Answered: Clinical Reformer Pilates

At DX Physio, we run Reformer Level 1 classes tailored specifically for those just starting out. Sessions are centred around foundational movement, core activation, breathing and building a greater sense of body awareness.

You’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, supported by our team at every step. No previous Pilates experience is required.

Comfortable activewear that allows you to move freely is best, like leggings, a fitted top, and grip socks (required for hygiene on the reformer). Avoid clothing with zippers or bulky seams.

Booking is simple, head online to MindBody where you’ll find a range of options including 1-on-1 sessions, small group classes and our beginner-friendly Reformer Level 1.

Unsure of what to expect from your first session? Book a FREE 10-minute consultation with our physio team before you commit.

We suggest all new clients start with a physiotherapy assessment, particularly if you are recovering from an injury, currently pregnant, postpartum, or managing an ongoing condition. This gives us the information we need to understand your history and goals and set up your program in the most appropriate way.

If you have prior reformer Pilates experience and are currently injury-free, you are welcome to book directly into a class. We would still appreciate a brief conversation beforehand to help guide you toward the most appropriate level.

InBody is used at DX Physio as an objective outcome measure, providing data on:

  • Muscle mass
  • Body fat percentage
  • Visceral fat level
  • Segmental strength balance
  • Metabolic health indicators

Using this information, we are able to track your progress beyond the number on the scale, establish realistic and personalised goals, and refine your program based on real data. We also monitor any weight or fat loss to ensure muscle mass is being preserved throughout the process.

As all classes are led by a registered physiotherapist, they may be claimable under most private health funds as part of physiotherapy services. We recommend checking with your insurer for further details.

Reformer Pilates is designed to engage multiple muscle groups at once. At DX Physio, our physiotherapists utilise the reformer’s spring resistance to target specific areas while supporting overall fitness, muscle tone, and postural control.

Clinical Pilates is led by qualified physiotherapists and focuses on rehab, injury prevention, and postural correction. It’s not just about fitness, but function. Regular mat Pilates may offer a good workout, but it won’t be tailored to your needs.

While both yoga and Pilates focus on mindful movement and breathing, clinical reformer Pilates uses dedicated equipment and is guided by physiotherapists with a focus on rehabilitation, core strength, and functional movement.
As a more structured and clinically informed practice, clinical reformer Pilates may be particularly well-suited to those managing specific health concerns or movement goals.

Where high-intensity gym training or HIIT Pilates prioritises output and intensity, clinical reformer Pilates takes a different approach, focusing on controlled, purposeful movement tailored to your individual needs.

Our Pre-Natal and Post-Natal Clinical Pilates classes are available for those who are pregnant or in the postpartum period. These sessions are carefully structured to support your core, pelvic floor, posture, and overall strength under the supervision of a registered physiotherapist.

At DX Physio, our clinical reformer Pilates classes are kept intentionally small and are guided by registered physiotherapists, rather than fitness instructors alone.

You can expect clear guidance, personalised programs and a level of individual attention that larger Pilates studios are unable to provide. With clinics in Cremorne and Balgowlah, both conveniently located near the Sydney CBD, we’re ready to welcome you.

We offer a New Client Intro Offer of $80 for 2 group classes, available to be used within 2 weeks. This gives you the opportunity to visit our studio, meet our team and experience Clinical Reformer Pilates before making a commitment to a full class program.

This offer is a low-pressure way to experience what we do and see if we’re the right fit for you. Book directly via MindBody to secure your spot.
