Support your body and movement, and invest in your long-term well-being.
Clinical Reformer Pilates is designed to support strength, flexibility, and functional movement, and may assist in your recovery process. It may be used to help with:
If any of these concerns resonate with you, the answer typically isn’t simply ‘more exercise’: it’s the most appropriate exercise, guided by qualified clinicians.
At DX Physio, clinical reformer Pilates is delivered by an experienced physiotherapist. Each program is goal-oriented and thoughtfully designed to support sustainable progress over time.
Clinical Pilates at DX Physio may help you work toward:
Hoping to rebuild strength and move with confidence?
Our intimate, physio-led Pilates classes offer a supportive environment to begin your movement journey.
Call us to book your pre-class physiotherapy assessment, and we'll work with you to determine the most suitable physio-led reformer Pilates program from our three options: Basic, Plus, or Premium.
Our 1V1 and 1V2 class formats are ideal for Pilates newcomers or those coming back after time away. Build your movement foundations in a caring, physio-led setting.
Every client is guided by a registered physiotherapist, with programs tailored to your body, history, and goals. We also use InBody body composition analysis to help track your progress along the way.
Eligible sessions may be claimed through private health insurance, depending on your cover. We'll provide a compliant invoice and guide you through the claims process if needed.
DX Physio offers Reformer Level 1 classes designed with beginners in mind, focusing on foundational movement patterns, core activation, breathing and body awareness.
You’re welcome to progress at your own pace in a warm and supportive setting. Our team will be with you every step of the way, no prior experience necessary.
Opt for comfortable activewear that won’t restrict your movement, such as leggings, a fitted top and grip socks (grip socks are required for hygiene purposes on the reformer). Clothing with zippers or bulky seams is best avoided.
We use MindBody for online bookings, where you’ll find all available options including 1-on-1 sessions, small group classes and our beginner-friendly Reformer Level 1.
New to Clinical Pilates and not sure where to begin? Book a FREE 10-minute consultation with our physio team to talk through your options before getting started.
We recommend all new clients start with a physiotherapy assessment. This is especially important if you’re recovering from an injury, pregnant, postpartum, or managing a specific condition. This helps us understand your history and goals, and set up your program correctly from the start.
If you have prior reformer Pilates experience and are currently injury-free, you are welcome to book directly into a class. We would still appreciate a brief conversation beforehand to help guide you toward the most appropriate level.
InBody is used at DX Physio as an objective outcome measure, providing data on:
This data helps us look beyond the scale to track meaningful progress, set realistic and personalised goals, and adjust your program using real, objective information. We also monitor any weight or fat loss to ensure it is not coming at the cost of muscle mass.
Since all classes are physio-led, they are claimable under most private health funds as part of physiotherapy services. Check with your insurer for details.
Reformer Pilates works multiple muscle groups simultaneously, making it a well-rounded form of exercise. At DX Physio, our physiotherapists use the reformer’s spring resistance to address specific areas while also supporting overall fitness, muscle tone, and postural control.
Clinical Pilates is guided by qualified physiotherapists and places emphasis on rehabilitation, injury prevention, and postural correction. The focus goes beyond fitness to support overall function. While regular mat Pilates may provide a good workout, it is unlikely to be tailored to your individual needs.
While both yoga and Pilates focus on mindful movement and breathing, clinical reformer Pilates uses dedicated equipment and is guided by physiotherapists with a focus on rehabilitation, core strength, and functional movement.
It’s a more structured, clinically informed practice suited to those managing specific health concerns or movement goals.
Clinical reformer Pilates differs from high-intensity gym training or HIIT Pilates in its emphasis on controlled, purposeful movement rather than pushing for high-intensity output.
At DX Physio, we offer both Pre-Natal and Post-Natal Clinical Pilates classes. Each program is thoughtfully designed to support core strength, pelvic floor function, posture, and overall strength in a supervised and supportive environment.
At DX Physio, we keep our clinical reformer Pilates classes small by design, with every session led by a registered physiotherapist rather than a general fitness instructor.
You’ll receive clear guidance, personalised programs, and the kind of individual attention that larger Pilates studios simply can’t offer. Conveniently located near the Sydney CBD, our Cremorne and Balgowlah clinics are ready to welcome you.
