Support your body and movement, and invest in your long-term well-being.
Clinical Reformer Pilates is designed to support strength, flexibility, and functional movement, and may assist in your recovery process. It may be used to help with:
If any of these concerns sound familiar, you don’t necessarily need ‘more exercise’: you need the most supportive exercise, guided by professional clinicians.
At DX Physio, clinical reformer Pilates is led by an experienced physiotherapist. Our programs are goal-driven and designed to support long-term change, not short-term fixes.
Through clinical Pilates, we may support you in working toward:
Hoping to regain strength and move more freely?
With small, physio-led classes, you’ll have the support and guidance you need from the very first session.
Give us a call and book a pre-class physiotherapy assessment. We will then guide you to the most suitable physio-led reformer Pilates program: Basic, Plus, or Premium.
Our 1V1 and 1V2 class formats are ideal for Pilates newcomers or those coming back after time away. Build your movement foundations in a caring, physio-led setting.
Each client receives guidance from a registered physiotherapist, with programs personalised to suit your body, history and goals. We also use InBody body composition analysis to help monitor your progress throughout your journey.
Depending on your level of cover, eligible sessions may be claimable through your private health insurance. We'll provide a compliant invoice and assist you through the claiming process if required.
At DX Physio, we offer Reformer Level 1 classes specifically designed for beginners. These sessions focus on foundational movement, core activation, breathing, and building body awareness.
In a supportive and encouraging environment, you’ll be guided through each step at a pace that suits you. No experience is needed to get started.
Opt for comfortable activewear that won’t restrict your movement, such as leggings, a fitted top and grip socks (grip socks are required for hygiene purposes on the reformer). Clothing with zippers or bulky seams is best avoided.
You can easily book online through MindBody, with options available for 1-on-1 sessions, small group classes and our beginner-friendly Reformer Level 1.
Unsure of what to expect from your first session? Book a FREE 10-minute consultation with our physio team before you commit.
We encourage all new clients to begin with a physiotherapy assessment. This is particularly important if you are recovering from an injury, pregnant, postpartum, or managing a specific health condition. It allows us to understand your history and goals, and ensure your program is set up appropriately from the outset.
If you have previous reformer Pilates experience and are injury-free, you’re welcome to book directly into a class. We’d still love a quick chat first to help you choose the most suitable level for you.
We use InBody as an objective outcome measure, which tracks:
This information helps us to track progress beyond the scale, set realistic, personalised goals, and adjust your program based on real data. Further, we measure weight or fat loss and check that it does not come at the cost of muscle loss.
Because our classes are physio-led, they may be claimable through most private health funds under physiotherapy services. Please check with your individual insurer to confirm your level of cover.
Reformer Pilates works multiple muscle groups simultaneously, making it a well-rounded form of exercise. At DX Physio, our physiotherapists use the reformer’s spring resistance to address specific areas while also supporting overall fitness, muscle tone, and postural control.
Clinical Pilates is delivered by qualified physiotherapists with a focus on rehabilitation, injury prevention, and postural correction; it’s about function, not just fitness. While regular mat Pilates may offer general fitness benefits, it is not tailored to your individual body, history or goals.
Both yoga and Pilates share an emphasis on mindful movement and breathing, however clinical reformer Pilates uses purpose-built equipment and is guided by physiotherapists, with a focus on rehabilitation, core strength, and functional movement.
As a more structured and clinically informed practice, clinical reformer Pilates may be particularly well-suited to those managing specific health concerns or movement goals.
Clinical reformer Pilates differs from high-intensity gym training or HIIT Pilates in its emphasis on controlled, purposeful movement rather than pushing for high-intensity output.
DX Physio offers dedicated Pre-Natal and Post-Natal Clinical Pilates classes, each designed with care to support core function, pelvic floor health, posture, and overall strength in a professionally supervised environment.
DX Physio’s clinical reformer Pilates classes are deliberately small in size and led by registered physiotherapists, not simply fitness instructors.
This means you’ll benefit from clear guidance, a personalised program and the kind of individual attention that simply isn’t possible in a larger studio setting. Our Cremorne and Balgowlah clinics are both conveniently located near the Sydney CBD and ready to welcome new clients.
We have a New Client Intro Offer available: $80 for 2 group classes, to be used within 2 weeks. This is a great opportunity to experience our studio, get to know our team and try Clinical Reformer Pilates before committing to a full program.
It’s an ideal way to explore whether our approach is right for your needs. Simply book this offer directly via MindBody to get started.
We provide services to patients in Sydney from areas including:
